AI Processing

When you use the AI Lesson Plan Generator, your uploaded document content is sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate your lesson plan. See the AI Data Processing section below for details.

AI Data Processing
How we handle your data when using AI-powered features

What happens when you use the AI Lesson Plan Generator:

  • 1.You upload a curriculum PDF and configure your lesson plan settings.
  • 2.The text content of your PDF is extracted and sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing.
  • 3.Anthropic processes the content to generate structured lesson plans and returns the results to LearnHaven.
  • 4.The generated lesson plan is saved to your LearnHaven account. The original uploaded PDF is not permanently stored.

Important details about AI data handling:

  • •No training on your data: Anthropic does not use your uploaded content to train their AI models. Your data is processed solely to fulfill your request.
  • •No personal student data sent: We do not send your children's names, ages, or personal information to the AI provider. Only the curriculum document content is transmitted.
  • •Temporary processing only: Anthropic may temporarily retain input/output data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and safety purposes, per their data retention policy, after which it is deleted.
  • •Usage tracking: We track aggregate usage statistics (token counts, estimated costs) for billing and service management purposes. We do not store the content of your uploaded documents or AI responses beyond what you save to your account.
  • •Opt-in only: AI processing only occurs when you explicitly use the AI Lesson Plan Generator. No documents or data are sent to AI providers without your direct action.
Children's Privacy

LearnHaven is designed for parents to manage their children's educational records. We take special care to protect children's information:

  • •We don't collect information directly from children under 13
  • •Parents have full control over their children's data
  • •We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
  • •No targeted advertising or data mining of children's information
